At just 0.3 cm thick it is an extraordinarily slim piece that is barely perceptible against the skin. Invisible under clothing, present in energy. That contrast between what cannot be seen and what is felt is precisely the essence of the Aegishjalmur: a shield that does not need to show itself to work, acting in silence from the inside outwards.
The olive wood comes from branches personally collected in Paracuellos de la Ribera, Aragon, during the winter pruning. Despite its slimness, olive wood is dense and resistant, one of the hardest among fruit tree woods. A material that beneath its apparent fragility conceals a centuries-old strength, just like the symbol it carries.
The Aegishjalmur is mentioned in the Saga of Fáfnir, where the dragon uses it as a psychic shield to keep at bay those who approach his treasure. Beyond the myth, it is a symbol that speaks of the ability to create one's own field of protection, to maintain personal integrity in the face of external influences that seek to destabilise.
Recommended for highly energetically sensitive people, those who work in environments of intense emotional exposure, or those going through moments of vulnerability who need to reinforce their boundaries. Also a deeply meaningful gift for those beginning to explore the Nordic runic tradition.
Each pendant is a unique piece. The fineness of the medallion and the hand pyrography on such a thin surface make every piece a small artisan challenge and an unrepeatable result. Measurements are approximate and may vary slightly between pieces.
